주요 책임

• Consulting of management in Korea and the Asia-Pacific regarding inventions and decisions on new patent applications, international applications, maintenance of IPR etc. in order to build a valuable patent portfolio, which is aligned with the business strategy of the respective technology/business area;
• Substantive patent matters in drafting of patent applications and responding to office actions;
• Prosecuting patent applications before national and international patent offices, correspondence with local and foreign patent attorneys;
• Litigation before patent offices and courts;
• Consulting of inventors and legal assessment of new technical designs;
• Monitoring of IP activities of competitors; 
• Investigation of new developments in regard to collision with third party IPR; preparation and assessment of identified collision, proposing recommendation for actions (confidential, internal);
• Providing legal opinions and assessment on the validity of third party IPR in regard to own products and own IPR in regard to competitor products;
• IP Training for staff and engineers; 
• Actively participate in the Asia Pacific Intellectual Property Team
   

자격

•  Major in electronics, information technology, computer science, or related subject matter
• Good conversational and written English language skills
• Qualified patent agent or patent attorney with a license to act before the respective patent office
• Legal knowledge is a plus, e.g., national civil and IP law, experience with foreign jurisdictions, US, DE, European, etc.
• 3-5 years relevant working experience as in-house counsel (managing intellectual property in electronics, mechatronics, or software development)
• Manage and prioritize diverse work tasks
• Ability to work independently, whilst contributing effectively as a team member
• Good communication skills and understanding of working in a global organization.

Goal of Position

Ensuring and promoting the innovation on the technology/business area in Asia-Pacific for which the position holder is responsible for:
A, by creating own Intellectual Property rights (IPR); 
B, by enforcement own IPR in case of infringement by third parties; 
C, by securing freedom to operate on the global market by repelling foreign legal claims, which are based on Intellectual Property rights.
Includes activities to avoid the violation of any third-party intellectual property rights, especially patents and trademarks, to protect the Schaeffler products with intellectual property rights and to enforce such rights in countries with present or future business operations.
