Your Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute sales activities to achieve commercial objectives for assigned market segments (territory, sector, customers, or product line).
  • Contribute to RFQ and budget planning; forecast revenues and customer prospects.
  • Understand product strategy (especially E-mobility) and advise internal/external stakeholders on applications and variations.
  • Collaborate closely with PMs and KAMs to secure engineering-based sales opportunities.
  • Engage deeply in customer projects with PM, track profitability, and implement corrective measures for deviations.
  • Analyze market trends; report on technologies, customers, and competitors.
  • Develop customer relationships; manage acquisition and negotiations.
  • Align with cross-functional teams globally; support all sales-related activities.
  • Prepare, conduct, and finalize negotiations on products, quantities, and pricing.
  • Monitor and report sales performance metrics for continuous improvement.

Main Tasks

Business Acquisition

  • Process customer inquiries and quotations.
  • Classify, register, and prepare inquiry documents.
  • Create risk level assessments (RLA) with Engineering, Production, and Legal.
  • Clarify and track open details with customers/KAM, engineering, plants, purchasing, etc.
  • Validate product calculations and pricing.
  • Prepare RFQ documents; negotiate and escalate issues promptly.
  • Track deadlines and communicate with customers/KAM.
  • Participate in internal/external project meetings; support Gateway reviews.
  • Monitor project profitability; define corrective measures.
  • Set and track customer-specific milestones with engineering and KAM.

Strategic Planning & Sales Strategy

  • Gather customer, market, and competitor intelligence.
  • Manage customer portfolio (contracts, terms, conditions).
  • Conduct won/lost analysis and assess sales strategy impact.
  • Plan turnover and sales forecasts; monitor deviations.
  • Coordinate activities for projects and serial production.
  • Develop strategies for new markets, customers, and products.

Other Tasks

  • Maintain customer contact; monitor delivery reliability.
  • Handle customer requests via portals.
  • Review cost breakdowns and value analysis; present to customers.
  • Approve credit/debit notes per guidelines.
  • Guide and supervise internal sales staff, field staff, apprentices, and interns.
  • Resolve open points with relevant departments.
  • Support and coordinate customer complaints and launch control.
  • Manage client development plans in alignment with GKAM and BU.
  • Support market analysis and product portfolio definition.
  • Define and implement product strategies; align BU/UB with client needs.
  • Initiate pre-acquisition activities; provide technical leadership for client teams.

Education and Experience  

University degree, ideally with a technical background (e.g. mechanical/electrical engineering, business administration and engineering), or experience in similar sales / KAM position.  
Process orientation and adherence.  
At least 2 years of experience in sales, key account or project management/application engineering, ideally experience in the automotive business.  
Strong sales and communicative personality ( communication in the matrix, strong network).  
Strong communication skills incl. Business English skills.  
Willingness to travel and work in international teams.
