Your Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, initiate, coordinate and monitor business relations with dedicated suppliers, within their categories for the Americas. 
  • Define global strategies for each category managed. 
  • Collaborate with Corporate and/or regional peers to define profitable purchasing/sourcing strategies and effective supply chains providing the lowest total landed costs. 
  • Continuously monitor Global Material Markets and manage/optimize the supplier portfolio in terms of ensuring quality, cost, on-time delivery, sustainability, and compliance with all laws and regulations. 
  • Track, monitor and analyze key material indices, including CRU, AMM, LME, etc. 
  • Negotiate prices and conditions in the context of Supplier Management Assignment (SMA), and manage and maintain all current supplier contracts and documentation supplied by our suppliers. 
  • Coordinate and steer assigned category, including purchase price planning and defining savings projects. 

Your Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in purchasing as part of an automotive tier one manufacturing organization.
  • Strong cost analysis, project management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience successfully leading and managing cross-functional teams.
  • External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment VISA or other sponsorship.

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering.
  • Demonstrated sourcing and purchasing experience in one or more of the following categories: castings, forgings, and wet and dry friction material.
