Your Key Responsibilities

The Wet Friction Material Development Engineer reports to the Section Leader of Friction Material Development and is responsible for supporting wet friction system development efforts within Schaeffler. This includes testing to determine the mechanical properties of materials, ordering samples from suppliers, and testing the samples for performance. This person will build relationships with both friction material and oil suppliers. The individual will have responsibility for working with suppliers to develop new friction materials to meet the increased challenges of slipping TCC’s and wet launch clutches. S/he must participate in internal training exercises/technical exchanges and will be required to present technical proposals to customers. S/he will

  • Order and analyze new friction materials
  • Order and evaluate different oil and additive samples
  • Order testing of new materials
  • Analyze and present results
  • Evaluate material performance relative to vehicle objectives

Your Qualifications

  • University degree in an Engineering  discipline
