Your Key Responsibilities

  • Associate Electrical Software Design Engineer in the Schaeffler Special Machinery (SMB) Department in the After Sales and Service Team in Wooster, Ohio.
  • Contribute to Schaeffler's success in an ever-changing market by concepting and testing out new technologies and procedures for manufacturing processes.
  • Propose improvements in the context of new market developments and test whether these can be beneficial for the company.
  • Cooperate with engineers or professionals of other disciplines to coordinate software interfaces.
  • Develop control software and design embedded systems.
  • Check the possibilities for technical realization of new projects.
  • Software development in the fields of Siemens Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) Portal & Step7, Fanuc Robots, Vision Systems, C+, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Hardware integration with Siemens 1500 series Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), servo drive systems, industrial networking (Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet, etc.), proportional–integral–derivative (PID) controls, power distribution systems, etc.
  • Travel to various sites for customer service support, up to 50% travel requirements depending on needs.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an electrical, computer, or controls engineering related field.
  • Advanced engineering & physics knowledge.
  • Superior knowledge of systems integration strategies, concepts, and techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge and skills in design of custom equipment for manufacturing including assembly, inspection, process control, etc.
  • Knowledge of Risk Level Assessment, codes, and regulations for industrial equipment safety.
  • External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment VISA or other sponsorship.

Our Offering

  • Salary range: $75,000 - $120,000
  • Hiring Bonus: $500 after 90 days, $1000 after 180 days
  • 6% 401(k) company match
