Your Key Responsibilities

Develop the structure of the mechanical system (steer by wire) from architecture with risk measures in mind.

Break down systems into subsystems and components, drafting detailed product specifications.

Evaluate existing subsystems for reusability and develop optimal alternative structures.

Perform necessary calculations and analyses to meet design requirements (FEA, manufacturability).

Collaborate with designers to create and approve drawings per Schaeffler standards.

Document and present design and analysis results, internally and externally.

Support DFMEA creation and evaluate risk assessments for production deviations.

Interact with customers and suppliers throughout product development process.

Encourage innovations and conduct benchmark studies on competitors and customer specs.

Assist processing plant requests, ensuring product quality and performance integrity.

Define test procedures and arrange testing in collaboration with test labs.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- 2 plus years experience
- Experience in developing steer-by-wire systems preferred.
- Proficient in CAD modeling software and interpreting FEA results.
- Understanding of GD&T, manufacturing processes, and mechatronic systems
- External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment VISA or other sponsorship
