Your Key Responsibilities

The Team Leader is responsible for leading a group of 7 - 15 employees with the primary purpose of achieving established KPI goals.  Creating a trustworthy environment where employees become motivated is a critical role of the Team Leader. 
In order to accomplish this the Team Leader is responsible for:  1.) Promotion of a safety conscious team and safe work environment; 2.) Development of a team that understands the business and the importance of Quality, OEE, Customer Service & MOVE; 3.) A well-trained group of employees; 4.) Proper communication in all aspects relevant to the employees’ job, and; 5.) Accountability for team performance

  • Monitors and evaluates KPI goals for the work area. 
    • Uses an effective compelling dashboard as a means of feedback on KPI’s. 
    • Reports KPI's to management during the daily walks
    • Actively communicate the goals to the team
    • Coordinates actions with Maintenance, Quality, Logistics, Human Resources to maintain production.
  • Responsible for shift-to-shift communication and knowledge transfer regarding priority items, down time etc. 
    • Facilitates use of MOVE tools by the team including conducting layered audits to verify employees are following SOP’s / Work Procedures
    • Responsible for maintaining a skilled work group. 
    • Trains new employees using approved training model / material. 
    • Trains current employees related to refresher training/new procedures/new equipment etc.
    • Monitors absenteeism - recommends appropriate action when needed involving supervisor in any actions taken.
    • Evaluation of employees – Provides feedback to PV for employee evaluation purposes or discipline.
    • Maintains training records of employees and insuring certifications are current.  
  • Works in operator capacity to facilitate training of less experienced associates and to cover emergencies.
  • Responsible for change overs, machine set ups and trouble shooting and machine repair.  
  • Promotion of a safe work environment and promoting safe work habits in all employees
    • Monitors that all employee’s safety certification records are current.
    • Support PL to ensure all employees receive all required safety training. 
    • Maintain safety trainings that are relevant for your role and area of work i.e., respirator fit training, crane certification, forklift training etc.

Your Qualifications

  • Technical degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience including prior leadership  
  • Has advanced technical skills and can perform change over, machine set ups and trouble shooting and machine repair. 
  • Good knowledge of production processes, measurement and inspection procedures, production planning and control,
  • MS-Office and SAP
  • Ability to manage and lead a team.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
