Your Key Responsibilities

  • Trains and coaches to ensure each unit employee has the technical tools and skills necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities assigned
  • Continually analyzes, appraises and documents the performance of manufacturing processes and process controls against established standards and when necessary, advises the appropriate production unit personnel when corrective action is required and follow up to ensure desired outcomes.
  • Applies quality planning activities for new product developments (PEP), series production, technology or process modifications, and production transfers.
  • Conducts all quality activities related to PEP or production transfer projects and ensures that all quality aspects are considered.
  • Supports quality planning-related activities and requirements during product development process (PEP and APQP), for line transfers.
  • Prepares Inspection and Control Plans and defines gauges and test equipment.
  • Communicates quality matters within PEP project team, to customers and suppliers (where necessary) also via portals.
  • May participate in local Q projects.

Your Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in quality assurance or related field
  • ASQ (American Society for Quality) accreditation as a CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or as a CQT (Certified Quality Technician)
  • Five years quality control experience in a leadership position in a manufacturing industry or parts manufacturing for OEM customers (Automotive or Aerospace preferred)
  • Excellent knowledge of the fundamentals, principles and management of quality functions as they apply to the changing market
  • Excellent knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other quality assurance techniques which would identify root causes of quality concerns
  • Advanced knowledge of PC based computer programs and related PC language
