Goal of Position

The incumbent is required to support Research & Development (R&D) initiatives in robotics and Internet of Things (IoT), collaborate with partners, assist in design processes, and develop control algorithms for autonomous and humanoid robots.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct dynamic modeling of mechatronic systems, including control design and the integration of numerical and physical systems within the mobility and robotics domain.
  • Develop hardware and software control architectures to enhance R&D initiatives, which includes development, testing, troubleshooting of software, and creation of verification procedures.
  • Establish engineering requirements, specifications, and validation criteria to ensure high-quality research by utilizing a blend of physical experiments, sensing technologies, numerical simulations, and data analytics for integrated physical-numerical modeling and applications.
  • Collaborate with industry partners, research institutions, and other stakeholders to contribute to grant proposals for research funding that aligns with the strategic objectives of SHARE at NTU.

Your Qualifications

  • Possesses minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering fields, with specialization in Control Engineering
  • Has a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • Possesses strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, with an emphasis on robotics design applications
  • Proficient in CAD software such as PTC Creo or SolidWorks
  • Has hands-on experience in chassis/frame design, mechanism design, and simulation techniques such as Finite Element Method (FEM), kinematics analysis, and linkage design
  • Possesses experience in R&D development focusing on mechatronic design, rapid prototyping, and fabrication processes
  • Familiar with ROS/ROS2 and embedded systems development, including real-time applications and debugging techniques
  • Has a strong analytical mindset and a passion for solving technical challenges by developing innovative solutions for complex mechanical systems

  • Has initiative to review relevant literature and implement cutting-edge techniques and tools to effectively address complex challenges
