Goal of Position

The EMAG engineer candidate will work in electric motor Schaeffler business unit, being involved in multidisciplinary tasks with other specialized R&D groups developing next generation of automotive electric motors.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mathematics, Physics, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Automotive Engineering.
  • Masters’ Degree or PhD in low frequency electromagnetism, electronics, electrical engineering or related is a plus.
  • Advanced English - TOEFL min. Score of ITP 585 / iBT 84, CEFR level B2-C1 (or equivalent)

 

Technical Requirements

  • Very good knowledge of the design and calculation of electric motors and magnetic circuits as well as a good understanding of electric drive systems
  • 1-3 years of experience working, developing, or calculating low frequency electromagnetic devices
  • Good nowledge of using calculation tools such as Ansys Maxwell or MotorCAD
  • Ideally knowledge of the manufacturing process of electric motors
  • Ability to understand complex systems and to systematically consider physical causal relationships
  • Structured and responsible way of working, excellent team skills and a high focus on results excellent communication ability in English (written & verbal)
  • Ability to interact with individuals and departments throughout the different Business Units
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong critical thinking and Problem-solving skills

 

Responsibilities

  • Conception/E-Mag Design / Architecture of e-motors as well as their system architecture combined with the optimization regarding function, system integration and costs
  • Ensuring / Confirming / Validating the design through detailed analyzes of the electromagnetic, thermal, acoustic and mechanical behavior of the electric motor
  • Coordination of the requirements with the departments involved in the interfaces from mechanical design, testing, industrialization and system development
  • Further development of the e-motor product portfolio for flexible use in various customer systems
  • Further development of tools, methods and processes for maximum quality and efficiency of the development process
  • Presentation and discussion of the results with customers and management
  • Creation of the development-accompanying documents according to the process
