Goal of position
The Mechanical Designer in Automation is responsible for developing and designing mechanical components and systems to enhance our automated processes. This role focuses on creating high-quality designs that meet project requirements while ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in mechanical design and a sound understanding of automation technologies to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
In this position, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, automation technicians, and production staff, to deliver innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency. Your work will involve generating detailed design specifications, performing simulations, and validating prototypes to ensure they meet performance criteria. Your expertise will contribute to the continuous improvement of our automation projects and support our commitment to maintaining the highest industry standards.
Formal prerequisites for the position
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Experience in mechanical design.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with automation systems and basic PLC programming is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Availability to work flexible hours or on-call as needed.
- High knowledge in finite element analysis.
Tasks
- Design and develop mechanical components for automation systems.
- Create detailed drawings and specifications for manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to integrate designs into automated systems.
- Conduct simulations and testing on prototypes to validate design functionality.
- Review and refine existing designs to enhance performance and reduce costs.
- Maintain thorough documentation of designs, specifications, and changes.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Responsible for the delivery of the mechanical BOM (Bill of materials).
- Responsible for the correct concept at the assembly.
