Logistics Specialist - Air Freight

Your Key Responsibilities

• The specialist will be responsible for handling and scheduling transportation services by using SAP, and TMS, to prepare and monitor load plans that direct the timely, efficient pickup and return of customer product to company warehouses.

• The specialist Retrieve and analyze data, design and build reports and present findings to ensure the effective and efficient use of transportation resources (carriers, equipment, modes, etc). Reports, addendums and accessorial will be developed and implemented through existing tools (Smart Source, Excel, Access, etc).

• The position ensures the smooth transportation of company products through the transportation channel by managing individual shipments in transit, selecting standard shipping/warehousing methods, collecting and processing delivery documentation, and personal contact with logistics colleagues, business partners, internal partners, and customers.

• The specialist prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to calculate, track, and assess key transportation metrics such as on time pickup and delivery performance, by customer and carrier, to drive improvement.

• Continuously work with stakeholders to build trust-based relationships.

• Perform meetings with key suppliers in preparation of go-live.

• Creating an onboarding plan. Collection of plant specific requirements.

• LSP Onboarding & Rate Management.

• Perform meetings with LSP in preparation to go-live.

• Communication of changes to LSP.

• Align onboarding plan with the role vendor onboarding / plant onboarding. 

• Plan and conduct local ramp-up.

• Collection of customers & plant specific requirements. Negotiate with LSP if needed.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in transportation management, logistics, project management, or similar preferred.  
• A minimum of 2 years experience as a transportation specialist in a related industry.
• Able to read, interpret, prepare, and report product shipment information from various order and shipping documents to ensure accuracy and through preparation of transportation documents.
• Proficiency in transportation management software.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
