1) Goal of position: Automation Intern

The Automation Intern is designed for recent graduates and serves as a foundational role within the Automation department. This position provides an opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience in various aspects of automation, including mechanical design, electrical systems, PLC programming, robotics, vision systems, quality assurance, and project management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an eagerness to learn and a passion for technology, enabling them to develop skills that will prepare them for a future role in any of the specialized areas within automation.

 

In this role, the intern will have the opportunity to work closely with various teams and professionals to gain a comprehensive understanding of automation processes and technologies. This position aims to provide a well-rounded experience, allowing the intern to explore different functions before making a decision about their future career path within the organization.

2) Formal prerequisites for the position

  • Recent graduate or enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related field).
  • Basic knowledge of automation technologies, control systems, and mechanical/electrical principles.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming and machine vision systems is a plus but not required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in teams.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic knowledge of relevant software tools (e.g., CAD, project management tools).
  • Availability to work flexible hours or on-call as needed.

3) Lenguages

B1 or higer recognized certification to demonstrate the level of English, such as TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge, etc

4) Tasks

  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of mechanical and electrical systems for automation applications.
  • Support the programming and troubleshooting of PLCs and robotic systems under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of vision systems and quality assurance processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to learn about project management methodologies and practices.
  • Document processes, project requirements, and operational guidelines for various automation projects.
  • Attend training sessions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
  • Gain exposure to purchasing processes and supplier interactions as part of the procurement cycle.
