Data Science Strategic Lead & Ambassador (m/f/d) Hybrid Option

Your Key Responsibilities

• Connect with business stakeholders and clients of all seniority levels as ambassador for Data Science topics – to drive the understanding of Data Science potentials and increase adoption of Data Science solutions across SCHAEFFLER
• Partner with DSS Product Owners, Data Scientists and clients to identify Data Science potentials that could boost the business value of existing IT solutions and increase penetration of Data Science services within our digital solutions
• As part of the DSS Leadership team, continuously drive the optimization of our setup (organization, responsibilities, innovation & DevOps processes, business engagement processes, etc.) to balance innovative power with excellence in delivering productive Data Science solutions
• Together with related roles (Solution Architecture & ML Engineering Leads), continuously drive the professionalization of the Data Science discipline across our innovation process – from ideation/prototyping to DevOps
• Lead and shape the international Data Science community at SCHAEFFLER, and the Data Science guild within DSS
• In alignment with colleagues from our “Strategic Digitalization” units, take ownership for prioritized strategic topics around Data Science & AI – e.g., partnerships, technology evaluations, innovation scouting
• If applicable, participate in concrete POCs or development projects as individual contributor

Your Qualifications

• Completed university degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science/Information Systems, or other related fields in quantitative or IT disciplines with respective focus areas or comparable qualification with confirmed experiences
• Long-standing professional experience in designing, optimizing and leading organizations that develop productive Data Science solutions
• Experience in balancing the innovation character inherent in Data Science topics with the focus on developing valuable IT solutions
• Familiarity with product-centric agile organizations as well as agile development processes, ideally paired with experience in how to integrate Data Science work effectively in agile processes
• Experience in explaining and articulating the value proposition of Data Science to stakeholders and clients of all seniority levels – up to top management
• Holistic business acumen needed, to present ideas impact focused in a way that is concise, easily understood, relevant to stakeholder needs
• Before leadership role, experience in actually doing Data Science – thus understanding challenges inherent in Data Science work and needs of Data Scientists in software development environments
• Very good knowledge of spoken and written English and German 
• 100% dedication to work in a team with flat hierarchies – taking ownership for topics, but driving them as a team
