Your Key Responsibilities

Sales & Marketing

  • Support Sales and Marketing staff with technical information about Schaeffler products.
  • Observe industry and competitor trends and report to Industry Sales Manager. 
  • Establish contacts with key customers, providing technical consultancy, to secure and grow business.
  • Travelling within country. Regional travelling in SEA may be required occasionally. 
  • Report timely marketing information to management.
  • Other assignments that the Management may request from time to time.

Technical

  • Lead and supervise local application engineering / field service team. 
  • Provide application and engineering consultancy to key customers.
  • Supervise product selection and calculation for customer applications.
  • Provide advice on lubricants, sealing systems and installation for Schaeffler products.
  • Conduct product, application and practical training seminars. 
  • Investigate bearing demands in specific industries an assist/ liaise with Headquarters in product development for New Product opportunities.
  • Provide support through Helpdesk or otherwise for Product Interchanges and Technical solution in pre-sales stage.
  • Report technical activities at a defined interval to Management at the desired form. 
  • Liaise with Technical Office SEA, CoCo AP and German headquarters on technical matters.
  • Assist Regional Engineering Manager to organize and conduct technical training programmes to build up technical competence level of Application / Field Service Engineers and Sales Engineers in SEA
  • Conduct technical troubleshooting activities, generate reports & present to customers technical findings.

Industry 4.0:

  • Promote and sell Industry 4.0 Solutions and other complementary products in the Schaeffler portfolio.
  • Independent market development & expansion of customer base; with strong focus on Industry 4.0 product portfolio & digital business model.
  • Active management of Industry 4.0 sales pipeline, ensuring Salesforce is maintained & up-to-date, and to identify opportunities through to realization.
  • Responsible for supporting, identifying, qualifying and processing of new Industry 4.0 potential leads & opportunities.
  • Development of Strategic Industry 4.0 partners in the context of "Certified by Schaeffler" concept; and ensure partners achieve/exceed targets & KPIs.
  • Responsible for quotation preparation & negotiation; work with Sales Team to close sales.
  • Independent ownership, control & responsible of sales pipeline, Salesforce, BPC/forecast for dedicated/selected I4.0 partners.
  • Capture market requirements & competitive situation, be the "Voice of Customer" in providing customer's feedback to optimize Industry 4.0 solution portfolio. 
  • Cross border/region/global collaboration for Industry 4.0 pursuits, development projects, promotion/marketing events.
  • To initiate and/or support Industry 4.0 promotional activities/events, actively promote Industry 4.0 product portfolio offline and online, develop success/win cases, share Schaeffler's solution via webinars, podcast, roadshows, training etc;  active sharing of challenges/success with SEA team & customers.
  • Develop customer presentation material based on database of case references on relevant applications, competitor benchmarking; and train sales team in effectively presenting sales material to customers.
  • Approach System Integrators and collaborate to generate package solutions for customers. 
  • Conduct vibration analysis, interpret results and prepare analysis reports for customers as and when needed.   

Your Qualifications

 

  • Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics Engineering 
  • Demonstrate good technical aptitude with the willingness to build up strong product technical knowledge. 
  • Relevant direct sales experience of at least 5 years, with a proven track record in new customer acquisition.
  • Experience working in a reputable MNC is preferable.
  • Good understanding of the ways of selling and working with OEM customers.
  • Past application engineering experience in a mechanical / electrical / mechatronics goods company will be considered a plus.
  • Good leadership & teamwork skills with a self-starter mentality.
  • Comfort in dealing with complexity and changes.  
  • Application / Commercial Knowledge for Motorcycle, Copier, Powertools, Small Engine, Power Transmission, House Hold Appliance, Industry 4.0 applications or semiconductor industry machinery is preferred.
  • Possessing IoT / Industry 4.0 mindset as a new way of doing business 
  • Excellent communication & networking skills, able to hold dialogue with people from all ranks in the organization.
  • Skilled in business negotiations and presentation of ideas.
  • Proactive, dynamic “hunter” sales drive with “can-do”, persistent attitude.
  • Competent in value-based selling techniques and strategic sales approach. 
  • Strong project management, execution and follow-through skills.
  • Intercultural sensitivity and comfort working with colleagues of different international backgrounds.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) including CRM software such as Salesforce.
  • Fluent in English and local dialect.
