Your Key Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain and manage drawing revisions to ensure only the current revision is released for tooling manufacture.
  • Facilitate programs in safety, cost reduction, and process improvement.
  • Responsibility for the compliance of new tooling designs or modifications with safety standards and regulations.
  • Overall responsibility for specifications, engineering blueprints, tool orders, and shop data in the respective area.
  • Confers with engineering and shop personnel to resolve design problems related to material characteristics, dimensional tolerances, service requirements, manufacturing procedures, and costs.
  • Directs tool technician activities to assure proper inventory level and successful release to production areas.
  • Oversee the design of tooling and/or mechanical systems for use by production or service departments including the preparation of scale layout drawings and/or schematic diagrams of mechanical and/or electrical products and components.

Your Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Profound experience and functional knowledge of tool room equipment, including but not limited to milling, drilling, turning, surface and rotary grinding machines.
  • Ability to supervise, direct, and lead employees.
  • Practical properties of materials knowledge.
  • Interpret technical drawings to determine work procedures required to complete orders.
  • Profound knowledge of GD&T practices combined with strong mathematics skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
  • Demonstrates effectiveness at working across or leading across organizational groups and levels.
  • Experience and knowledge of inspection techniques.
  • Strong cause and effect skills – related to tooling failure and potential re-design.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities utilizing good problem-solving skills.
