Sustainability Professional (d/m/w) - Value Chain Decarbonization

Your Key Responsibilities

• Independent leading, definition and management of the strategic program for decarbonizing the upstream value chain
• Independent definition, evaluation, development, and prioritization of levers and measures to decarbonize Schaeffler’s emissions along the value chain and to adapt to climate change
• Further development and active monitoring of the decarbonization roadmap for the value chain, aligned with the climate transition plan
• Independent monitoring and evaluation of achieved and expected greenhouse gas reductions in the value chain based on sound data and analyses
• Ensuring integration and coordination of cross-functional networks and teams
• Leading decarbonization projects, including ensuring progress and timely achievement of targets related to strategic climate targets
• Development and implementation of climate protection activities, including digitalization, climate risk assessments, GHG accounting, target setting, and reporting
• Representing Schaeffler at international sustainability events to promote exchange of experience and strengthen our strategic position

Your Qualifications

• Successfully completed university degree in sustainability, energy management, environmental sciences, or related fields
• Strong passion for sustainability, particularly data-driven and AI-powered sustainability approaches, as well as collaboration with internal and external stakeholders such as customers and suppliers
• Several years of solid professional experience in decarbonization or climate protection within industrial companies or consulting, ideally with a focus on automotive
• Proven long-term experience in independently leading and managing international decarbonization programs and projects in upstream and downstream value chains
• Deep expertise in supply chain decarbonization, especially in the areas of steel and electronics
• In-depth knowledge in product development, CO₂ foot printing at corporate and product levels, decarbonization strategies, and circular economy
• Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken
• Demonstrable experience in independently leading and managing international decarbonization programs and projects along the value chain
