Your Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the CFD model and software packages selected to validate component design.
  • Applies deep expertise in an engineering methodology in R&D operations and other projects.
  • Generate understanding of key processes in an electrochemical cell
  • Integrate electrochemical processes and heat generation into CFD models to closely mimic reality
  • Constantly monitors the further development of the area of expertise to keep up-to-date (e.g. publications, trainings, knowledge exchange through industry associations and R&D partners).
  • Prepares suggestions and decision-making papers for R&D management to initiate methodological changes.
  • Selection of appropriate software packages or coding platform
  • Generate CFD models and simulations in dedicated software
  • Code adaptation to capture all processes whilst minimizing calculation time
  • Design experiments to validate models and recommend operating parameters
  • Interpretation of data and translate results to cell hardware design optimization

Your Qualifications

  • University degree or PhD in engineering, e.g. mechanical, electric, economic engineering or comparable
  • > 3 years of relevant work experience in fluid mechanics and CFD tools, e.g. ANSYS SpaceClaim, Fluent, and CFD-Post 
  • Knowledge in an electrolyzer or fuel cell systems
  • Experience in Python is a plus
  • Knowledge of requirements of product development
  • International work experience is a plus
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-sufficient working attitude
