Jo Overview

We’re looking for a Sales Representative to join our Industrial Aftermarket business unit to grow sales and achieve our business plan in Oregon, Northern Idaho, Southeast and Eastern Washington. Your success will come from maintaining relationships with existing customers, prospecting new customers, and executing sales strategies with passion and perseverance. This is a remote position, with a preference for candidates residing near Portland, OR.

 

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell Schaeffler bearing products to the Industrial Aftermarket via authorized distributor channels.
  • Develop and execute territory sales strategies and initiatives to drive sustained market share growth and achieve established sales targets.
  • Proactively build strong, positive relationships with distributor partners and end-users to add value, foster loyalty, and enhance the Schaeffler brand.
  • Schedule and conduct regular appointments to ensure consistent, timely engagement with branch and customer contacts.
  • Assist distributor partners in converting competitor part numbers to Schaeffler equivalents, providing expert guidance throughout the process.
  • Support distributors in generating quotes and establishing strategic pricing, ensuring timely and responsive communication.
  • Monitor open orders and deliveries, and communicate effectively to resolve any issues between Schaeffler and distributor partners.
  • Deliver product training to distributors and end-user customers within the region.
  • Provide application support through product expertise and by liaising between customers and Schaeffler engineering service teams.
  • Communicate sales milestones and customer feedback clearly to ensure Schaeffler understands customer needs and expectations.
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM software for accurate documentation of account activities and territory opportunities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within the Schaeffler organization to support and achieve industry and business objectives.

Your Qualifications

  • Relevant industry experience required; Bachelor’s degree or technical school certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ industrial sales experience, preferably selling through industrial distributors or within related sectors (such as bearings, power transmission, fluid power, fluid sealing, pumps, motors, or couplings).
  • Highly self-motivated and proactive, with strong planning and organizational skills to manage priorities and effectively schedule time.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new concepts and learn independently when necessary.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Salesforce.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to travel within the assigned territory as required.
  • Must reside in close proximity to a major airport (Portland, OR).
  • Willingness and ability to travel overnight approximately 35% of the time.
