Your Key Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of customs activities for assigned entities or areas of expertise, in order to comply with customs law and optimize the customs position.
- Responsible for a designated customs area/topic and for providing support to the organization, and ensure compliance with agreed standards and processes.
- Assess business models and projects and provide advice to management on related matters.
- Carry out investigations into customs issues and correspond with governmental revenue agencies.
- Evaluate compliance performance/risk exposure and initiate appropriate actions.
- Manage completion of customs forecasts and related tasks.
- Performs tasks such as HTS classification, Preference calculations, Duty drawback, and Optimization and supervision of any customs exemptions .
- Develop duty optimization strategies.
Your Qualifications
- Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Customs and Trade.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a related role.
- Proven experience in customs operations, trade compliance, or customs brokerage within an international business environment.
- In-depth knowledge of customs laws, regulations, and procedures relevant to the designated areas or topics.
- Experience performing customs classification (HTS), preference ruling calculations, duty drawback processes, and managing customs exemptions.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement duty optimization strategies and compliance improvement measures.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship.
- Licensed customs broker is preferred
