Your Key Responsibilities

As a buyer, your responsibilites may include:

  • Development and implementation of a regional purchasing strategy in the assigned categories in alignment with the relevant specialist areas and contact partners.
  • Regional responsibility for the costs of assigned category/categories.
  • Planning and tracking of budgetary prerequisites.
  • Analysis of the respective purchasing volume.
  • Generation of procurement strategies and market intelligence.
  • Identification, initiation, and promotion of potential savings and improvements (i.e. specification, make-or-buy, cost value analyses).
  • Monitoring of project implementation and initiation of countermeasures if the project target is at risk.
  • Risk management and task force/troubleshooting with regards to quality/delivery issues for all relevant suppliers assigned.
  • Pricing, conditions, and contract negotiations as well as leading RFQs for relevant suppliers.
  • Initiation and implementation of the supplier selection and supplier approval process, in accordance with the category-specific requirements.
  • Active management of the supplier portfolio (ensuring the correct supplier assignment, classification, assessment, and development) & volatile supply-critical materials.
  • Regular coordination with the relevant specialist departments and the regional/local key stakeholders to assure and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure suitable purchasing processes and tools are in place and followed.
  • Participation in shaping the process landscape in Purchasing, as well as the initiation and support of continuous improvement measures

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering or equivalent related field.
  • 2+ years of Purchasing (or other relevant) experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with purchasing and negotiations & working in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in engineering technologies (Automation, Assembly Integration, Machines & Test Equipment).
  • Capable of managing complex projects under pressure, while meeting due dates, & targets.
  • Willingness to travel 15% of the time.
