Your Key Responsibilities

  • Complete 7,000 hours between the College Program and on-the-job training (OJT) in our manufacturing facilities
  • OJT is rotational and will include, but may not be limited to:
  • Work in manufacturing area to gain ability to know/recognize parts to ensure product flow and organization;
  • Assemble product using various types of assembly machinery, which involves standing for long periods of time.  Some machines involves standing on platform, three to four feet above the shop floor.   The apprentice will have to be capable of hand loading parts onto the belts of the machines or be able to utilize lift assistance to raise containers. The apprentice will also  hand assemble parts while ensuring quality checks are adhered to the control;
  • Stage/stack parts by hand or be able to operate overhead lifts to move parts from the staging area to the loading areas for the heat treat furnace in such a way that there are not any unnecessary gaps or delays in production flow;
  • Operate and control furnaces and auxiliary equipment;
  • Operate stamping press, which involves using an overhead lift to manipulate rolls of steel into the press;
  • Inspect parts using gauges and lab equipment. Must also maintain inspection records;
  • Conduct preventive and/or corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment;
  • Deliver parts to required work stations in a timely manner; requires lifting and operation of hand truck/tugged;
  • Upon completion of the program, graduating apprentices will receive a Setup Operator Certificate from Your Technical College and an Apprenticeship Certificate from USDOL.  

Your Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of the Compass Placement Test (required for school admission)
  • Ability to move or lift 35 pounds
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment VISA or other sponsorship
