Mgr. Purchasing Strategy & Strategic Supplier Management Asia-Pacific

Your Key Responsibilities

• Manage the supplier management function for an organization unit assigned, to ensure a reliable supply chain.
• Define supplier strategies and develop processes, guidelines and instructions for regional and global supplier relationships.
• Manage supplier selection, negotiation and sourcing processes.
• Define and implement measures for logistics integration of suppliers.
• Set framework for target cost analyses, price models for new products and identify potential for cost optimization.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
• Build up and lead the department of Purchasing Strategy & Strategic Supplier Management Asia-Pacific - Supplier Development, Supplier Quality, Supplier Development Logistics, Schaeffler Production Systems at Suppliers, OEX, Sustainability@Suppliers, Cost Value Analysis & Negotiation, Strategy & Market intelligence, Supplier Integration & Supplier Logistics Engineering.
• Build up and lead the regional Strategic development of the organization in Asia-Pacific.
• Identify and develop suppliers in region Asia-Pacific in order to assure localization projects for the countries and global demand of the Schaeffler Group.
• Competency build up in the countries for the specific new projects and new technologies, build up cross-country / cross-regional technology and quality network.
• Standardize and adjust newly into SAP added countries acc to global standards and procedures.
• Harmonize the supplier base with appropriate measures to bring them on Schaeffler global standards
• Lead the implementation of Lean manufacturing concepts at suppliers to improve Quality, Cost, Delivery and Sustainability.
• Build up the knowledge and competence within the Purchasing & Supplier Management organization through strategic initiatives that incorporate lean principles, transparency and accountability.  
• Development, control and optimization of logistics concepts for integration of external suppliers.
• Development of suppliers regarding logistics processes and lean activities.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor 's Degree or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• 10 to 15 years of experience in manufacturing. 
• Experience and knowledge in purchasing, procurement, or other relevant fields (transferable skills welcome).
• Ability to negotiate effectively.
• Experience working with and/or leading cross-functional or cross-cultural teams, or demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams.
• Commitment to achieving business objectives.
• Ability to manage complex projects.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English (support and reasonable accommodations available if needed).
• Effective communication skills for working in diverse, international environments.
• Leadership skills.
• Experience working across cultures and sensitivity to cultural differences.
• Familiarity with tools such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP (or similar systems); accessibility support provided if required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Certification in Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent experience applying Lean methodologies, is a plus.
