Project Manager

Your Key Responsibilities

Tasks

• Define the project targets together with the project sponsor
• Structure, plan and control the project in a logical manner
• Obtain project information, review project framework conditions, and define specifications for project execution
• Plan resource requirements and ensure resource availability together with the line manager (incl. task description and project schedule)
• Define and agree work packages, and if applicable subprojects and ensure their implementation, results verification and resource availability
• Conduct a kick-off
• Plan project costs/budget and track approved project budget

Powers

• Make all project-relevant decisions within the framework conditions of the project request/project charter
• View and approve project costs
• Access to qualification information of the designated project team members
• Veto right regarding project team staffing
• Steer the division of the project into subprojects and work packages
• Nominate Subproject Managers and Work Package Coordinators
• Approving subprojects and work packages
• Achieve the project targets regarding content/quality, schedule, and cost
• Adherence to the approved project budget
• Identify risks, deviations, and change needs, and initiate and track suitable measures in a timely manner
• Ensure resource availability in coordination with line managers of the assigned project team members
• Monitor progress and control the project
• Report on project status, closure, and results to the project sponsor
• Manage internal and external communication and represent the project internally and externally

Your Qualifications

• • Sufficient subject-matter expertise regarding the project topic and a sound understanding of relevant processes as well as the organizational structures within the company
  • Knowledge of project management methods, techniques, and tools, as well as overarching governance processes, including planning, organization, budget and benefits management, controlling & reporting
  • Strong ability to manage risks and opportunities, control changes, support escalations, coordinate resources, and engage stakeholders in a targeted manner
  • Leadership skills, negotiation skills, results orientation, as well as clear and appropriate audience communication skills towards the team and stakeholders
  • Motivational and conflict-resolution skills, combined with the ability to support teams and facilitate in challenging situations.
  • Self-management, resilience, and stress tolerance, combined with a sense of responsibility, adaptability, and flexibility
  • Very good knowledge of English, both written and spoken
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, business administration, project management, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in project management, preferably in a technical, industrial, or international environment.
  • Proven experience in managing projects from initiation through completion, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and quality.
  • Knowledge of project management methods, tools, governance, budgeting, reporting, and controlling.
  • Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risks, changes, deviations, escalations, and project dependencies.
