General Information
The Engineering Methods & Tool Development Engineer develops, adapts, and maintains internal methods and tools required for simulations supporting the product development.
The role clarifies simulation and tool requirements, determines suitable methods and approaches, and implements recognized and innovative solutions. It contributes to the global alignment and consistent application of engineering methods and tools across the organization.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Clarify and document requirements for simulations, engineering methods, and development tools.
- Analyze simulation objectives and determine appropriate methods, models, workflows, and tool approaches.
- Develop new internal methods and tools for simulation-based product development
- Adapt and enhance existing methods and tools to support new products, technologies, and development requirements.
- Translate engineering requirements into practical, reusable, and maintainable simulation solutions.
- Evaluate the suitability, performance, and applicability of methods and tools.
- Establish and maintain standards, guidelines, documentation, and usage concepts for developed solutions.
- Support the integration of methods and tools into engineering and simulation processes.
- Monitor technical developments in the relevant area of expertise.
- Apply recognized engineering practices as well as innovative approaches to method and tool development.
- Promote the global alignment of methods and tools at the corporate level.
- Support users and development teams in the application of methods and tools.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, reproducibility, and automation in simulation activities.
Your Qualifications
- Very good knowledge of English, both written and spoken
- University degree in engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, physics, or a comparable technical discipline.
- Additional specialization in simulation, systems engineering, software engineering, electronics, mechanics, or a related field is advantageous.
- Experience in engineering simulation, method development, tool development, or a comparable technical function.
- Practical experience developing, adapting, validating, or maintaining engineering methods and tools.
- Experience translating technical requirements into simulation concepts, models, workflows, or software-based solutions.
- Experience with technical documentation, standards, validation, and continuous improvement.
- Experience working in interdisciplinary, international, or globally standardized engineering environments is advantageous.
