Your Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and clarify software and system requirements.
  • Define software architecture, interfaces, and technical concepts.
  • Develop embedded software in accordance with applicable coding standards and development processes.
  • Implement, integrate, and configure software components for microcontroller-based systems.
  • Develop low-level software, drivers, hardware interfaces, and communication functions where required.
  • Perform software debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Create and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests.
  • Support hardware bring-up, commissioning, and laboratory testing.
  • Review requirements, architecture, source code, and test specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design descriptions, interface specifications, test documentation, and release notes.
  • Use version-control, issue-tracking, build, and continuous-integration tools.
  • Support software releases, maintenance activities, and the resolution of field or production issues.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development methods, tools, and processes.
  • Coordinate technical topics with internal departments, suppliers, and external development partners when necessary.

Your Qualifications

  • Very good knowledge of English, both written and spoken
  • University degree or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering, electronics, computer engineering, computer science, mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Professional experience in embedded software development, firmware engineering, or a comparable engineering role.
  • Demonstrated programming experience in C; practical knowledge of C++ or another embedded programming language is beneficial.
  • Practical experience with microcontrollers, real-time systems, embedded operating systems, or bare-metal software.
  • Experience working with hardware interfaces, communication protocols, and technical hardware documentation.
  • Experience using software debugging and laboratory tools, such as debuggers, oscilloscopes, or logic analyzers.
  • Experience in software testing, including unit, integration, and system testing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • High-quality awareness and willingness to take ownership of assigned software components.
