Your Key Responsibilities

• Develops data pipelines and applies methods and tools to collect, store, process and analyze complex data sets, globally for assigned operations or functions;
• Further development and extension of existing frameworks and blueprints that are applied by many teams across the organisation (e.g. for developing Data Products efficiently and according to the guidelines);
• Design, govern, build and operate solutions for large-scale data architectures and applications across businesses and functions;
• Select, manage and work hands-on with Big Data tools and frameworks, and implement ETL tools and processes as well as data virtualization and federation services;
• Engineer and maintain data integration pipelines and reusable data services using cross-functional data models, semantic technologies and data integration solutions;
• Define, implement and apply data governance policies in collaboration with other IT functions for all data flows relevant to the Data Platform to ensure that the guidelines for data ingestion, retention, lineage and access are being followed.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field;
• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in data engineering or related roles;  
• Proficient understanding of distributed and Cloud computing principles and technologies;
• Experience in working with Cloud environments and services, preferably with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, Event Hub, Azure Data Explorer, Stream Analytics, Microsoft Azure etc; 
• Strong programming skills in PySpark, Java, SQL and Kusto Language;
• Experience with Streaming and Event based Data Architecture;
• Software development experience is a strong plus; 
• Experience in data modeling (ER, UML); 
• Proficiency in SQL;
• First Experience with non-relational databases such as MongoDB for example, their query languages and fields of application;
• Fluent Business English (spoken and written); 
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges; 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment; 
• Proficiency in agile methodologies, with experience working effectively within agile teams and environments, fostering an agile mindset in daily work;
• Awareness or first experience with GenAI (either as user or developer).
