Application Engineer

Your Key Responsibilities

• Assess customer requirements as a basis for application development activities.
• Clarify and structure customer needs from a technical perspective.
• Translate customer requirements into clear and technically feasible specifications.
• Coordinate the review and release of specifications in accordance with the four-eyes principle.
• Develop applications based on defined and agreed specifications.
• Adapt existing products and systems to meet specific customer requirements.
• Contribute to the development of new products and application solutions.
• Carry out technical project management for assigned product development activities.
• Coordinate technical activities with relevant internal stakeholders.
• Support external product release and customer communication.
• Verify that the proposed solution meets the agreed customer and technical requirements.
• Contribute to delivering the optimal solution for the customer.
• Ensure that customer requirements are fully assessed and appropriately documented.
• Ensure that requirements are translated into complete, consistent, and technically feasible specifications.
• Ensure compliance with the four-eyes principle during specification release.
• Ensure that application development activities are performed according to agreed specifications.
• Ensure effective technical coordination and project follow-up.
• Identify and communicate technical risks, assumptions, and deviations in a timely manner.
• Support the quality and completeness of technical documentation.
• Ensure that customer-facing product releases are technically prepared and aligned with the agreed solution.
• Contribute to customer satisfaction by supporting the delivery of an optimal application solution.
• Work in accordance with applicable engineering, quality, safety, compliance, and governance requirements

Your Qualifications

• Very good knowledge of English, both written and spoken
• University degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, applied sciences, or a related technical discipline.
• Relevant experience in application engineering, product development, systems engineering, or a comparable engineering environment.
• Practical experience in requirements analysis and the conversion of customer needs into technical specifications.
• Experience with technical project coordination or project management.
• Knowledge of product adaptation, product development, and technical release processes.
• Experience working in cross-functional and, preferably, international teams
• Willingness and ability to work in accordance with defined approval, governance, quality, and compliance processes.
